EXPERIENCE RITUAL AND TRADITION
Experience the warmth and love of our church.
We warmly welcome you wherever you are on your spiritual journey.
Steeped in Medieval history St Juthware is a calming peaceful place to visit deep in the Dorset Countryside. The patron saint of Halstock, St Juthware (or Judith) devoted herself to serving God and performing good works. She tended to the needs of pilgrims who visited the village. She may have lived here around AD700 and her remains were eventually taken to Sherborne in the 10th century.
She was greatly venerated by the church in medieval Sherborne and her feast day of July 13th is shown in the Sherborne Missal. The Harrow Way passes the church.
If you have never visited our lovely Church, we hope you can do so soon. Marvelling at this glorious building, may you also catch a glimpse of the magic of the history– so that, having arrived as our welcome guest, you will leave renewed.
