• process your donation;
• administer fundraising campaigns, including the Raise the Roof Campaign;
• acknowledge your generosity;
• maintain accurate financial records;
• process Gift Aid claims where applicable;
• communicate with you about the fundraising campaign if you have asked us to;
• comply with legal and financial obligations.
What Information We Collect
Depending on your donation, we may collect:
• Name
• Postal address
• Email address
• Telephone number
• Donation amount
• Payment details (we do not retain full card details where payments are processed by a third-party provider)
• Gift Aid declaration (where applicable)
• Any message you choose to include with your donation.
Lawful Basis for Processing
Under UK GDPR we process your information using one or more of the following lawful bases:
• Legal obligation – to comply with charity, accounting and tax law.
• Legitimate interests – to administer our fundraising activities and maintain appropriate records.
• Consent – where you have agreed to receive future communications from us.
You may withdraw your consent for communications at any time.
Gift Aid
If you complete a Gift Aid Declaration, we will retain the information required by HM Revenue & Customs to reclaim Gift Aid on your donation.
HMRC requires us to retain these records for the statutory period.
How We Store Your Information
Your information is stored securely. We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to prevent unauthorised access, loss or misuse of your personal information. Access is limited to authorised PCC members and volunteers who require the information to perform their duties.
How Long We Keep Your Information
Financial and Gift Aid records will normally be retained for at least seven years in accordance with legal and accounting requirements. Other donor information will only be retained for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.
Sharing Your Information
We will never sell your personal information.
We may share your information only where necessary with:
• HM Revenue & Customs (for Gift Aid claims)
• Our bank or payment processing provider
• Professional advisers such as auditors
• The Diocese where required for legal or regulatory purposes.
All organisations with whom we share information are required to keep it secure.
Communications
If you choose to receive updates from us, we may send information about:
• progress of the Raise the Roof Campaign;
• fundraising events;
• restoration work;
• opportunities to support the church.
You may unsubscribe at any time by contacting us.
Your Rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to be informed about how your data is used; access the personal information we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate information; request deletion where appropriate; restrict processing; object to processing based on legitimate interests; withdraw consent; and complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Security
We take appropriate measures to protect your information from accidental loss, unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure. Where information is stored electronically, it is protected using appropriate passwords and security measures.

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The latest version will always be available on our website or from the Churchwardens on request.
